Frequently asked questions

Do you have any questions before booking? I have gathered the most frequently asked questions and answers here.

Coaching is a forward-focused process that helps you gain clarity, move forward when you feel stuck, and create meaningful change in your life or career.
Through increased self-awareness, reflection, and conscious choices, coaching supports you in utilizing your own resources and living more in alignment with what matters to you.

Coaching and mentoring are both supportive processes, but they involve different roles and approaches.

A mentor guides you and provides advice based on their own experience. A mentor often possesses specific expertise you wish to learn from, typically within the same industry, field, or role. Nora has worked as a mentor in her previous career as a project manager and has also mentored international residents living in Norway.

Coaching is a forward-looking and reflective conversation where Nora asks questions, listens actively, and supports you in discovering your own insights, clarity, and direction. She does not provide advice or tell you what to do, but rather helps you explore your thoughts, behaviors, goals, and next steps. Coaching creates space for increased self-awareness, personal development, and independent choices.

Individual coaching provides you with a confidential and supportive space where you can think aloud, reflect, and explore what is important to you. Nora has no agenda for the choices you should make in your life, and approaches you with completely open perspectives.

You will meet a professional who listens without judgment, asks open and thought-provoking questions, and supports you through change processes and conscious choices.

This might sound like grand words or a sales pitch, but this is something Nora experiences every day in coaching conversations.

Many who come to Nora can relate to some of this – related to life situations and changes.

Nora works with women and men seeking support during a life phase where change is necessary.
She also works with women and men seeking personal development, who are open to encountering themselves with curiosity and courage.

The sessions are based on your situation and what is important to you.
Nora supports the process with structure and questions that provide clarity, new perspectives, and room for reflection and conscious choices. After the session, you will be left with something concrete to take forward and work on between sessions. Or perhaps you are already on your way, and a single session is sufficient.

No. You can come just as you are. All emotions are welcome and important, including in coaching conversations.

That is perfectly normal. Coaching helps you sort out what is unclear.

Both therapy and coaching can provide support for personal development and an improved quality of life.

Therapy may involve processing the past, burdens, and traumas. Coaching sessions do not focus on these aspects, but rather address the present and the path forward. Many who have previously undergone therapy eventually choose coaching when they wish to work in a more future-oriented manner, focusing on choices, direction, and concrete life changes.

If Nora determines that another approach may be more appropriate for you, or that your needs fall outside her area of expertise, she will discuss this with you.

No. Coaching is not about finding ready-made solutions. I support you in making your own decisions, and provide suggestions only when it is beneficial and desired.

Some find that one or two sessions provide what they need. Others prefer support over time. You determine the pace and duration.

Yes, we can meet online. Many find this to be both flexible and secure, and prefer to have sessions from home or a familiar place.
